I have been saying from the outset that Rep. McCaul should refer Blinken for contempt.

He finally got the backbone to do it.

And guess what… it worked.

Here You Go

Most figured Secretary of State Blinken would hold off on the dissent cable that McCaul was requesting.

They figured if he did get referred, there is no way Merrick Garland would indict.

The problem, however, is that the precedent on this has been set by Garland to charge, and Blinken knows that.

I think this was more about Blinken not wanting to get Garland jammed up than anything else.

He already knows that no matter what the dissent cable says about Afghanistan, the media pretty much doesn’t care.

So, he caved and announced that he is giving up the full dissent cable to McCaul.

State Department spokesman Vedant Patel stated, “In our letter to the committee today, we will invite Chairman [Michael] McCaul and Ranking Member [Gregory] Meeks to view the dissent channel cable here at the State Department, in camera, with appropriate personal information redacted.

“It is our sincere hope that our offer here will sufficiently satisfy their request for information.”

I cannot wait to see just how bad it is.
