Democrats are getting more and more desperate these days.
Reporters are still falling short, but they are getting better.
When Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was challenged on Biden’s debt ceiling resistance to negotiations, KJP did not take it well.
The Resistance
Speaker McCarthy (R-CA) finally brought a budget to the table, but Joe is still playing hardball, refusing to budge on any concessions regarding the debt ceiling.
NBC News White House correspondent Kristen Welker tried to hit the administration on this, stating, “The president said, ‘Show me your budget.’ He didn’t say, ‘Show me a budget that I agree with.'”
But Jean-Pierre cut her right off, stating, “Well, you have to finish — you have to finish the statement. He said — well, you have to finish what he said. The statement that he made — his quote is, ‘Show me your budget, and I’ll show you what you value.’
“That’s what the president said.
“And by looking at this blueprint, by looking at the plan, they are certainly showing us their value.”
Welker could not help poking the bear, stating, “I guess the question is, isn’t the ball in the president’s court?”
KJP responded, “I already answered the question, Kristen, many, many times.
“This is a constitutional duty that Congress has, and Speaker McCarthy is playing games.
“He is wasting the time of the American people. This is a political stunt, and he has to act. He has to act.
“And what he showed us yesterday — he aligned himself with the MAGA wing of the party.”
This administration acts as though Congress has a duty to greenlight any spending package that Biden puts out there, and that is not the case.
McCarthy put a reasonable solution on the table, and Joe Biden is playing chicken with two cars headed for each other at 100 mph.
June will be here soon enough, and the collision will be horrific if Biden does not budge.
