Biden officials are not doing well on the Hill these days.
They are either made to look like complete imbeciles or they lose their cool under pressure.
I would say that U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai did a little of both when she was in the hot seat.
Uhm, Eh…
The one thing that drives me nuts about politicians when they appear before Congress, the usually deflect with long-winding answers that have nothing to do with the question.
Rep. Greg Murphy (R-N.C.) tried to take a less combative approach, which accomplished two things.
It made him look foolish for being too sympathetic and it got under the skin of Tai.
When he told Tai that he felt sorry for her, watch how her facial expression changes and she goes off on him…
Rep. Beth Van Duyne (R-TX) took a more direct approach, but Tai tried to do exactly what I stated above.
She was asked a yes or no question, then proceeded to go on a long-winded rant before being cut off by Van Duyne.
That exchange did not go so well either…
I asked @USTradeRep simple questions today. Unfortunately, she chose to filibuster and avoid answering our important questions. pic.twitter.com/LxPk7lPnzJ

For once, it would be nice if someone would just give a straight answer for the benefit of the American people.
As I have stated before, our system is very broken and at this point, I am not sure if it will ever get fixed.
