There is a new message coming out of California.
You can no longer support your local police for fear of offending the woke.
I kid you not, the Thin Blue Flag known for showing support for police has been banned by Saugus High School in Santa Clarita, CA.
Tradition Gone
To this point, the football team always ran on the field with the Thin Blue Line flag to show support for the local police.
According to reports, several complaints were lodged recently by people that felt the flag was divisive.
Principal Geni Peterson Henry held a meeting with the football coach, Jason Bornn, to discuss the matter.
After the meeting, Bornn, “in deference to his commitment to inclusivity, kindness and respect …,” said he would end the tradition.
William S. Hart Union High School District Superintendent Mike Kuhlman stated, “(It) occurred to (Bornn) that it’s possible that some players on the team might not be entirely enthusiastic about a symbol that is being used to represent the entire team.”
I would think that if players had a problem with the flag, they would have gone directly to their coach, but that does not seem to be what happened here.
Instead, we have a few random individuals who were offended by the flag, so the woke wins again.
I just hope that means they also ban all BLM and ANTIFA rhetoric from being worn at the games.
My real hope is that every fan shows up to the next game on Friday night with a TBL sweatshirt on.
