One would think that a man that claims to unite the country could at least get the entire Supreme Court bench to show up for his address.
As it turns out, Biden could not even get all of the liberal justices to show up.
Normally, Justices Thomas and Alito are absent.
For Biden’s address, Justices Gorsuch and Sotomayor decided to stay home too.
Pass
Biden has been dumping all over the court since he sat down in the Oval Office, so it was no surprise to see members of the court not taking part in this charade.
In attendance were Justices John Roberts, Elena Kagan, Brett Kavanaugh, Amy Coney Barrett, and Ketanji Brown Jackson.
Absent were Justices Clarence Thomas, Sam Alito, Sonia Sotomayor, and Neil Gorsuch.
Thomas has not attended a SOTU in nearly three decades, so his absence was not a surprise. Alito has not been present since 2010, after Obama dumped all over the court during his SOTU address.
Justice Sotomayor stopped attending when Donald Trump was elected, but most expected her to start coming with Biden in office, but she has yet to see the puppet in action.
Justice Gorsuch was the final missing piece.
I have to be honest, I was truly surprised to see Justices Barrett and Kavanaugh in attendance, especially Kavanaugh.
Biden has hung him out to dry regarding protesters at his home, but Kavanaugh proved to be the bigger man and showed up.
Biden greeted them all, spent a few extra minutes with Justice Jackson, his appointee, then proceeded to dump on the court for the Roe v. Wade decision.
I am thinking that after Biden’s comments, Kavanaugh and Barrett probably thought they should have stayed home.
