When Donald Trump took office, one of his goals was to upgrade our military.
It would appear that one of those upgrades has finally come to fruition.
The Air Force has a new toy, and it kicks ass!
It’s a Monster
The Air Force has just been upgraded with a new F-15EX.
The jet is able to operate at one-third of the cost of the F-35 yet performs the same functions.
The aircraft has been in testing for two years, and it is now exceeding expectations on the number of weapons it can carry and tonnage.
The Air Force ordered the new planes in the middle of the last year of Trump’s presidency.
At a mere $80 million each, the Air Force has already received two of the planes from the first order of eight.
This will replace the outdated F-15Es.
The planes took heavy use during the Afghanistan and Iraq wars and are ready to be retired.
The new fighter can carry up to 12 air-to-air missiles (previous models could carry up to 8) and it is capable of carrying 13.6 tons of weapons, far more than any other F-15 model.
The new jet has been dubbed the Eagle II.
