The border is secure…
There are families of at least four border agents that would not agree with that statement.
On Thursday, a border agent was shot and killed, and three others were injured in a shootout with smugglers.
Horrible
We all know about the problems at our southern border, but we are also having issues with maritime smugglers.
This latest incident took place off the coast of Puerto Rico.
Agents approached a boat that was coming into US territory they believed had illicit substances aboard.
As they approached, they came under fire.
One agent was a shot and killed.
Three more agents were wounded and transported to a hospital.
CBP stated, “The Marine Agents suffered various gunshot injuries.
“The agents are being airlifted by CBP and Coast Guard to the Puerto Rico Trauma Center.”
Secretary Mayorkas, who claims the border is secure, added, “These are brave members of our Air and Marine Operations … the difficulty of this job cannot be compared to the difficulty that our frontline personnel face every day.
“Their bravery and selfless service should be recognized.”
Perhaps Mayorkas should abide by his own request.
The amount of disrespect that man has shown to his own agents is appalling.
He may also want to include Joe Biden in on that, as I believe Joe has still not apologized for #WhipGate .
