House Speaker Pelosi (D-CA) just did it again.
By “it,” I mean she extended proxy voting through the end of September because of COVID.
The real reason… Dems plan on pushing a full slate of legislation and she wants to make sure they have the votes.

A major bill is about to hit the floor on Friday.
It is another massive spending bill, and Nancy needs every vote she can muster.
That being the case, proxy voting remains.
Since there were 152 proxy filings before today, I am sure that was her inspiration, as most of them are from Democrats.
Virtually every member of the Squad is in that filing group.
House Minority Leader McCarthy (R-CA) has already stated that he wants to end proxy voting as soon as he gets the gavel.
He should also ensure his members are not using the rule, but that is not the case.
While the GOP has not abused the rule like Democrats, it is being used by numerous members, some of whom are using it almost as much as Democrats.
Set the example, don’t take advantage of the rule.
All that does, even if it is one member, is give Pelosi ammunition and an excuse to keep renewing the extension.
