Remember when judges used to make examples of people that went after public officials and police officers.

Well, now you get to go free right away.

I kid you not… after trying to stab Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-N.Y.), who also happens to be a gubernatorial candidate, the attacker was let get on ROR.

The amusing aspect of this is that Zeldin predicted this would happen.

Here is the video of the attack…

Zeldin was able to deflect and dodge the first lunge, then everyone jumped into action and took the attacker down.

The suspect, David G. Jakubonis, 43 of Fairport, N.Y., was arrested and charged with second-degree attempted assault.

Zeldin predicted the release, tweeting, “His words as he tried to stab me a few hours ago were ‘you’re done’, but several attendees, including @EspositoforNY, quickly jumped into action & tackled the guy.

“Law enforcement was on the scene within minutes. The attacker will likely be instantly released under NY’s laws.”

The irony in all of this… Zeldin was talking about people feeling unsafe in New York due to violence and moving to other states.

I don’t know if Jakubonis realizes it or not, but he may have just made Zeldin the next governor of New York.
