Scientific American Editor Resigns After Calling Voters ‘Fascists’

Unhinged Brainwashed Liberal Editor Resigns After THIS Happens

The famous Scientific American magazine has fallen into disrepute since being taken over by Laura Helmuth, and now she is finally resigning after an unhinged rant attacking half of America.

Helmuth resigned as editor-in-chief of Scientific American, the United States’ oldest magazine founded in 1845, on Thursday after widespread backlash over her insane tirade against supporters of President-elect Donald Trump — where she declared that his supporters are “fascists” and “bigots” in response to Trump’s landslide victory.

Before quitting her job as editor-in-chief, Helmuth faced widespread calls for her resignation over a shocking series of posts in which she attacked half the country for daring to support Trump. She was already facing calls for resignation because of Scientific American’s shift from unbiased science discussions to radical leftist propaganda.

“Every four years I remember why I left Indiana (where I grew up) and remember why I respect the people who stayed and are trying to make it less racist and sexist. The moral arc of the universe isn’t going to be itself,” Helmuth wrote in a post on the left’s failing version of X, Bluesky, following Trump’s landslide victory in the election.

Helmuth continued her deranged rant in another post, writing, “Solidarity to everybody whose meanest, dumbest, most bigoted high-school classmates are celebrating early results because f*ck them to the moon and back.”

Another post read, “I apologize to younger voters that my Gen X is so full of f*cking fascists.”

This post prompted widespread calls for Helmuth’s resignation, with many arguing that she has ruined the reputation of Scientific American by pushing her radical leftist views through the outlet.

As Colin Wright noted, “During her tenure, she transformed @sciam from a widely respected, objective popular science magazine into a science-themed, woke political publication.”

Helmuth did end up apologizing for her vitriolic posts, though many believed the weak apology was not enough.

“I made a series of offensive and inappropriate posts on my personal Bluesky account on election night, and I am sorry,” she wrote.

She has since locked her X account so the posts are only available to accounts that she follows.

Helmuth announced her decision to resign from her position in a post on Bluesky, writing: “I’ve decided to leave Scientific American after an exciting 4.5 years as editor in chief. I’m going to take some time to think about what comes next (and go bird watching), but for now I’d like to share a very small sample of the work I’ve been so proud to support.”

As The Daily Mail noted, Scientific American had not issued any presidential endorsements until Helmuth took over the editor position. The paper then endorsed President Joe Biden in the 2020 election and Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election.

Beyond the endorsements, the outlet has published ridiculous articles in support of gender ideology that defy actual science, including an article supporting the insane notion that ancient humans allowed women to hunt and men to gather — which was published as part of an effort to insist that men can compete in women’s sports.
