If you read my report over the weekend about Donald Trump’s campaign stop in PA, you know I blasted him for a cheap shot against Governor Ron DeSantis.
I was far from the only person to hit Trump on this, as more than a few pundits hammered him for slamming a fellow Republican that pushes the MAGA agenda and has stood by Trump from the outset.
Trump seems to have gotten the message, backing off considerably once he arrived in Florida.
Vote for Ron
Trump always had a great relationship with DeSantis until people started considering DeSantis for 2024.
First Trump started to push the narrative that he made DeSantis, now he is giving him one of his nicknames to take a shot at him.
Some of Trump’s loyalist supporters hit him for it, so Trump came about as close to an apology as I think DeSantis will get.
During the Florida rally, Trump stated, “You’re going to reelect the wonderful, the great friend of mine, Marco Rubio to the United States Senate and you are going to reelect Ron DeSantis as your governor.”
I found it very curious that Trump did not include the word “friend” when describing DeSantis.
To the Governor’s credit, he has not played this game with Trump.
When he gets asked about a riff, he just blows it off as media nonsense.
DeSantis has figured out the game.
Shockingly, even after everything that Trump went through as president, he has not.
