Donald Trump, if you can believe it, is getting a boost in the polls.
Who knew… conservative voters love a man that is about to get indicted (maybe).
With Trump dominating headlines for all the wrong reasons, he has flipped the momentum in polls and opened up his lead on DeSantis.
Not All Strawberries
There is a little caveat to these numbers, however.
First, Trump’s big lead, 41-27, is only in a crowded field.
Even so, DeSantis was getting a little too close for comfort for the Trump camp on that front, having nearly pulled even with Trump.
That led to some nasty and untrue attacks from Trump against DeSantis.
In a head-to-head matchup, DeSantis has lost his lead, with Trump now pulling ahead 47-46.
The Monmouth University survey has now shown two good cycles for Trump, but I question how much longer that will last.
Trump is getting a nice boost from the indictment rumors out of New York, but that case may actually go away very soon.
There are rumblings about pushback from prosecutors in Bragg’s office as well as rumors that the grand jury is not feeling the case merits an indictment.
If that happens, Trump loses his victim card, which means he will be forced to go back to making salacious rumors up about DeSantis.
The closer this race gets, the uglier the hits by Trump against DeSantis, so dig in, folks, this is going to get dirty.
