Is the Trump magic starting to fade?
Ron DeSantis has been getting out there a little more, and what do you know, people like him.
All of a sudden, Trump is going backward in polls, and his attacks against DeSantis show just how nervous he is.
Going the Wrong Way
The latest poll to show a steep decline for Trump is in the Des Moines Register/Mediacom Iowa Poll.
Trump is still leading, but he has seen a big chunk of his lead dissipate.
Trump went from 69 percent to 47 percent, as voters are clearly starting to look for a different solution.
The good news for Trump is that 74 percent of voters will still vote for him if he wins the nomination, but that is also a number that took a big hit.
During the last poll in June, that number was at 84 percent.
Keep in mind, Ron DeSantis is still an unknown quantity for a lot of people right now.
Political junkies like us all know who he is, but most people are clueless.
As that changes, I would suspect that Trump’s numbers will go down even more.
Trump is not taking this well, launching attack after attack against DeSantis, while at the same time being completely ignored by DeSantis.
It is a great strategy by DeSantis because if you are following this on the internet, the strategy is backfiring on Trump in a very bad way.
