One would think that a sitting president would want a personal update from the commanding general overseeing efforts at the border, correct?
That would make sense.
So, I will need someone to explain to me why Northern Command Commander Gen. Glen VanHerck has never personally given Joe Biden a briefing on the border.
He Doesn’t Care
VanHerck was recently in the hot seat getting questioned about his duties at the border.
While he has no authority to arrest anyone, he does play a vital role in assisting border authorities in apprehending illegal immigrants as well as stopping and preventing illegal activity.
He is, more or less, Border Patrol’s military eyes and ears, so to speak.
House Armed Services Military Personnel Subcommittee Chairman Jim Banks (R-IN) wanted to know if Biden personally received a briefing.
This was a legitimate question because Trump personally visited the station when he was president.
VanHerck replied, “Not that I’m aware of.”
Regarding Trump’s visit, Banks stated, “That’s the type of leadership that he provided in this country. The opposite of what we’re seeing coming from President Biden.”
Banks concluded, Banks concluded, “It’s just it’s absolutely it’s shameful.
“And I’m going to continue to do whatever I can to make sure that we get a president in the White House who pay – was paying attention to the southern border.”

The one thing that annoyed me about this general is that he was trying to justify Biden’s disinterest in the border by saying Biden gets his reports elsewhere.
