When you put through legislation or an Executive Order, common sense says that before you do that, you have a realistic idea of how much it will cost.
Common sense, however, is severely lacking on the left these days, so Joe Biden offered up student loan forgiveness with no real idea how much it will cost Americans.
When Republicans in the House requested costs for the EO, the request was blocked by House Democrats who are running the show right now.
Denied!
On Thursday, the House Committee on Education and Labor met to consider a Republican-backed resolution.
Fox News reported that the resolution “asks the Department of Education for a range of information on the cost of two loan forgiveness policies that only benefit people who work in the public sector.”
Not only did the committee chaired by Democrats deny the resolution, but they will also block a resolution to explain how the EO will be paid for as well as explaining how Biden has the legal authority to just erase billions in debt.
Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-N.C) stated, “President Biden is making radical changes to the student loan program through executive fiat and must be held accountable.
“What is happening now is the law is not being followed as it was written, and that’s one of the reasons we feel so keenly that this is an illegal act on the part of the president.”
We have gone from a Democratic Republic to an autocracy with Joe Biden in office.
Funny, I kind of remember them saying that is what Donald Trump was going to do.
