This was not a good week for liberals and Democrats regarding Supreme Court decisions.
Along with the student loan forgiveness plan being halted, there was another decision handed down that has liberals and Dems fuming.
We are going to need a lot of safe spaces for Democrats and liberals.
You Have a Choice
The Supreme Court ruled in favor of a graphic designer who refused to create same-sex wedding websites.
Now, this is something that I have never understood in terms of suing people.
If the person does not want to create your site, simply find someone else who does.
Even if you win the case, what are the chances they put their heart into the design and create something you will be happy with?
Regardless, 303 Creative v. Elenis went before the court on this matter and the LGBTQ+ community was not happy with the decision.
The decision, as expected, came down along ideological lines.
It even caused a rift between Justice Gorsuch and Sotomayor, who used a made-up narrative to support her dissenting opinion.
Sotomayor leaned into the attack at the Pulse nightclub, saying this decision would create more hostile attacks against the LGBTQ+ community.
The facts of that case have already proven that the attack had nothing in particular to do with that community and was merely a random attack based on Google searches for security at these clubs and which clubs were open at the time.
Gorsuch responded, “It is difficult to read the dissent and conclude we are looking at the same case.”
He accused her of reimagining “the fact” from “top to bottom.”
He added, “In some places, the dissent gets so turned around about the facts that it opens fire on its own position.
“For instance: While stressing that a Colorado company cannot refuse ‘the full and equal enjoyment of [its] services’ based on a customer’s protected status… the dissent assures us that a company selling creative services ‘to the public’ does have a right ‘to decide what messages to include or not to include…’ But if that is true, what are we even debating?”
Gorsuch concluded, “Consistent with the First Amendment, the Nation’s answer is tolerance, not coercion.
“The First Amendment envisions the United States as a rich and complex place where all persons are free to think and speak as they wish, not as the government demands.
“Colorado cannot deny that promise consistent with the First Amendment.”
This is far from the first time a liberal justice, Sotomayor in particular, has cited false facts to back a dissenting opinion.
Lorie Smith, the owner of the design company, added, “I think it’s important for people to understand that I love and welcome the opportunity to work with all people.
“My case has never been about choosing which client to work with, but about choosing the message that I’m being asked to promote.”
To that point, if a Nazi sympathizer asked a web designer to create a pro-Nazi site, would we even be having this conversation?
Of course not, but since it is a liberal-oriented cause, they start to raise hell.
