It would appear that Rep. James Comer (R-KY) has finally gotten around to issuing bank record subpoenas for key Biden family accounts.
Comer has issued subpoenas for multiple bank accounts for businesses owned by James and Hunter Biden.
Why he waited so long, I have no idea, but now we get to play the waiting game.
What Took So Long?
The impeachment inquiry started on Thursday, September 28, 2023.
In my opinion, these banking records should have been secured prior to starting, as they are central to the case against Biden.
Republicans are trying to show that money received from overseas companies went through this network, and then was eventually distributed to various Biden family members, including Joe.
Comer, on issuing the subpoenas, stated, “From day one of our investigation of Joe Biden’s abuse of public office, we’ve followed the money and that continues with today’s subpoenas for Hunter and James Biden’s bank records.
“Bank records don’t lie, and coupled with witness testimony, they reveal that Joe Biden abused his public office for his family’s financial gain.”
But, he does not yet have the records.
He has also given them until October 12 to respond, so don’t expect to see them anytime soon.
I just think it was foolish to start this inquiry without having the smoking gun in hand.
If they don’t get what they need from those records, Comer and the entire GOP are going to have egg on their faces.
