The state of California sounds like it is ready to put itself into bankruptcy to buy votes for Democrats.
The California Reparations Panel has finally announced its findings.
The panel announced a plan to pay black residents in the state $1.2 million each.
The plan was approved by the California Reparations Task Force this weekend.
Show Me the Money
Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA) stated, “Reparations are not only morally justifiable, but they have the potential to address long-standing racial disparities and inequalities.
“The panel’s recommendation breaks payments down by types of historical discrimination.
“For instance, Black residents affected by redlining by banks would receive $3,366 for each year they lived in California from the early 1930s to the late 1970s, amounting to up to $148,099.”
Governor Gavin Newsom has been pussyfooting around the idea of paying out all this money.
He has announced support for the idea, just not the actual payment.
The plan would cost California about $800 billion, more than three times its annual budget.
Now, keep in mind, a lot of businesses and wealthy taxpayers have left the state, and you better believe they will be running for the hills now if they find out taxes are going to go up to pay this bill.
Dems have been feeding into this idea for decades, and now it has come to roost.
