The radical leftist co-hosts of ABC’s “The View” are calling for Americans to cut off their Trump-supporting family members and ban them from holiday gatherings.
Co-hosts Sunny Hostin and Whoopi Goldberg pushed the divisive and ridiculous idea during the Tuesday broadcast of “The View,” where they argued that family members who support President-elect Donald Trump deserved to be cut off from their left-leaning family because they voted “against people that they love.” Goldberg also claimed that these family members might say offensive things to gay children that could be present at holiday gatherings.
The discussion began with co-host Sara Haines, who argued against cutting off Trump-supporting family.
“Whatever your reason is, I would never let my politics be the reason I don’t show up to see my family because they want me to be there,” Haines said.
“I’m gonna disagree,” Hostin responded. “I completely understand her point because I really do feel that this candidate, you know, President-elect Trump is just a different type of candidate. From the things he’s said and the things he’s done, and the things he will do, it’s more of a moral issue for me, and I think it’s more of a moral issue for other people.”
She then claimed that this policy of cutting off family members wouldn’t have applied to someone who supported a Republican candidate like former President George W. Bush because he wasn’t as “deeply flawed” as Trump — ignoring the fact that many on the left also referred to Bush as “Hitler” on a regular basis, only to later embrace him so that they could reuse the label for Trump.
“Deeply flawed by character, deeply flawed in morality,” Hostin added. “I think when people feel that someone voted not only against their families but against them, and against people that they love, I think it’s okay to take a beat.

Goldberg then chimed in to make the discussion even more unhinged, claiming that Trump supporters somehow represent a threat to gay children’s feelings.
“I appreciate the voters, but I will say, somebody who tells me that my child is wrong because of how he or she feels, that tells me that they shouldn’t be allowed to be who they are with my permission, I have to question it,” she claimed. “I don’t want to put my kid in that position. I don’t want to put my gay child in a position where she has to sit with someone who doesn’t understand her and feels like it’s okay to just blurt all of that out. That’s just me.”
“With mixed families I feel the same way. There are certain things where you don’t have to put your family in the middle of it. You can have dinner at another point but it might not be the time to gather because you know there’s gonna be some tension … but I’m not tense, my daughter’s not gay,” Goldberg added, explaining that she had to clear that last part up so that she did not receive a call from her daughter about it.
Whoopi also suggests people shouldn't visit Trump-voting family for the holidays because they're going to lash out and attack their gay children.
