Waukesha, WI– A massive deployment of Waukesha Police is outside the Baymont Hotel off East Moreland Boulevard. Multiple police units reacted after 6 p.m. April 28th to reports of shots being fired inside a hotel room. Several agencies have responded to what they are referring to as an ‘active incident’. Guests and personnel are being evacuated at this time. No word on injuries.

Local New outlet WISN 12 teams on the scene can see officers with guards outside the hotel entryway.
Employees at a neighboring business stated they were informed to remain inside. According to JSOnline,
“Officers from a number of Waukesha County departments were blocking off streets and evacuating areas surrounding the hotel at 2111 E. Moreland Blvd.
Businesses, including a nearby car dealership, were being evacuated, according to emergency radio traffic.
Authorities sent out a reverse 911 alert asking people within a half-mile radius of the hotel to avoid the area.
Officers at the scene have requested armored vehicles respond to the hotel.”
No other information has actually been released. Waukesha gained national notice in 2021 for the Waukesha Christmas massacre committed by Darrell E. Brooks which killed six people and injured dozens.
