One of the more iconic figures on Fox News has decided the time has come to retire.

Geraldo Rivera did his last appearance on Fox News on Friday.

He was sent off with everyone wearing his iconic mustache and celebrating a decades-long career at the network.

Happy Retirement

Rivera was always a bit of an enigma for me in that there were times I loved what he said and times that he left me steaming mad, which I guess means he was doing his job.

Rivera appeared on “Fox & Friends” for his final appearance.

He stated, “I am honored, I love Fox, I love the people at Fox, I always will.

“I’ll never let anyone separate us, but I am beyond grateful for this.

“This is so deeply affecting, I love you for it. Thank you.”

Rivera first joined Fox News in 2001 as a war correspondent.

He later became a staple on “The Five,” which has become the most-watched show on cable news.

On his time as a war correspondent, Rivera stated, “It was just something I had to do, to go over there.

“I met many service members who are still dear friends.”

Some of his more memorable assignments were the 2015 terrorist attack in Paris, France, reporting live during a firefight between Libyan military and rebel forces in 2011, and his extensive reporting after Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

As noted above, he also did extensive wartime coverage, being assigned as the correspondent for Operation Enduring Freedom in 2001.

He was also famous for his own shows that were complete disasters, such as the opening of Al Capone’s Vault, which was arguably one of the most-hyped shows in history while producing absolutely nothing for viewers.

Regardless, he was loved and admired by fans for his faults and achievements.

Enjoy your retirement, Geraldo, but I have a feeling this is not the last we are going to hear from you.
