In a contentious exchange following a White House event on January 24th, Joe Biden responded to a perfectly legitimate question from Fox’s Peter Doocy regarding the potential effect of inflation on the 2022 election season by calling the seasoned journalist a “stupid son of a bitch”. According to reports from Doocy, it turns out that Biden may have been snapped up short by his handlers and tucked tail, calling Doocy on his cellphone to walk the comment back personally.
“Do you think inflation is a political liability?” Doocy asked Biden as the press were herded away from Biden following an event in the White House East Room.
“No, it’s a great asset — more inflation. What a stupid son of a bitch,” Biden said glaring at him, mere centimeters from a hot mic he’d been using seconds before. Suffice it to say, he knew it was hot the whole time. The incident was live-streamed on CSPAN and made global headlines Monday evening almost instantly.
Doocy And Hannity Recount The Wrath of Biden, His Sudden Walk Back
Fox’s Sean Hannity caught up with Doocy later that evening and the Senior White House Correspondent told the veteran commentator how the impromptu call from Biden went.
“He said ‘It’s nothing personal, pal. And we went back and forth, and we were talking about just kind of moving forward, and I made sure to tell him that. I’m always gonna try to ask something different than what everybody else is asking. And he said, ‘You got to.’ And that’s a quote from the president, so I’ll keep doing it.”
Hannity asked if Biden apologized. Doocy answered, “He cleared the air and I appreciate it. We had a nice call.”
“That’s not an answer,” Hannity joked. “That doesn’t sound like an apology.”
“He said ‘It’s nothing personal, pal.’ And I told him that I appreciate him reaching out.”
“Sean, the world is on the brink of, like, World War III right now with all of this stuff going on. I appreciate that the president took a couple of minutes out this evening while he was still at this desk to give me a call and clear the air.”
“I don’t need anybody to apologize to me. He can call me whatever he wants as long as it gets him talking.”
“I think that’s enough. That’s enough. So we can move on. We can now move forward. There will be years- three to seven years of opportunities to ask him about different stuff.”
This latest outburst certainly doesn’t help reduce concerns over Biden’s diminishing cognitive abilities given that “Loss of inhibition and impulse control. This is a characteristic that is, to a great extent, due to damage in the frontal parts of the brain and its connections and is extremely common in most forms of dementia.” according to legal experts on elder care.
