House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) has just stepped up, sending a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray. Within the letter, Jordan appears to provide additional evidence that the FBI did, in fact, use confidential human sources in order to infiltrate crowds ahead of January 6th.
This new information is extremely concerning and suggests a lack of control over CHS activities by the bureau.

There are multiple reports pointing towards involvement from CHSs in the Capitol riots. Former Assistant Director-in-Charge of the Washington Field Office (WFO), Steven D’Antuono testified last week that they were aware in advance of some CHSs being present at the event. He also recalled an example where a CHS from Kansas City was on site at the Capitol and had allegedly been in contact with his handler while there.
Furthermore, The Federalist reported as early as one week after the incident that it bore “the markings of an organized operation planned well in advance” with four separate cells or units seen on West Front before it began.
And former Fox News host Tucker Carlson reported early on that he heard from sources about scores of federally managed operatives present in the crowd during the riot.
These revelations raise serious questions about why this was allowed to happen and what other operations may have gone unchecked by federal authorities.
It seems clear now that FBI field offices outside Washington D.C., were managing these confidential human sources without adequate oversight or tracking measures taken by headquarters.
So how many more cases such as these exist?
If this infiltration was done for legitimate law enforcement purposes, then why did Attorney General Merrick Garland refuse Chairman Jordan’s request for documents related to their use?
These are all questions which must be answered if we are ever going to get justice for what happened inside our nation’s capital – both those responsible for committing violence against people and property as well as those whose negligence enabled them to do so must be held accountable.
