This is the first time a new nuclear plant has gone online in about seven years.

Today, many would say that nuclear energy is the safest and most efficient energy source we have.
Well, everyone but environmentalists.
The only energy they are happy with is “green” energy.
To that point, environmentalists are already screaming about the dangers of radioactive waste to the environment.
The new nuclear plant will provide power for about 500,000 homes in Georgia.
Georgia Power stated, “The new unit represents a long-term investment in the state’s clean energy future and will provide reliable, emissions-free energy to customers for decades to come.”
The cost for the plant, which includes an additional reactor to go live later this year or early next year, was more than $30 billion.
That is more than double the original estimates of the project, which is why the original developer abandoned the project and filed for bankruptcy.
