One of the biggest debacles of the Biden administration is now being blamed on Trump.
The Inspector General reviewed the Afghanistan withdrawal and spread blame around to everyone.
From what I read of that report, it was pretty much dead on.
Yet, when the Biden administration released its internal review, it applauded Biden and dumped on Trump at least a half dozen times.
Fantasyland
Remember when Joe Biden said he would make mistakes, but he would always own up to them?
Well, he has yet to own up to a single mistake.
Time and again, this review pointed to Trump.
For instance, it stated, “President Biden’s choices for how to execute a withdrawal from Afghanistan were severely constrained by conditions created by his predecessor.”
The report further stated, “During the transition from the Trump Administration to the Biden Administration, the outgoing Administration provided no plans for how to conduct the final withdrawal or to evacuate Americans and Afghan allies.
“Indeed, there were no such plans in place when President Biden came into office, even with the agreed upon full withdrawal just over three months away.”
House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX) unloaded after the review was made public and spokesperson John Kirby touted how proud the administration was of the withdrawal.
He stated, “John Kirby’s comments during today’s White House press briefing were disgraceful and insulting. President Biden made the decision to withdraw and even picked the exact date; he is responsible for the massive failures in planning and execution.
“It is also unfortunate it took my subpoena threat to prompt the administration to finally provide the classified after-action reports from the Afghanistan withdrawal.
“I look forward to reviewing the report and call upon the administration to declassify as much as possible for the American public.
“Finally, Congress must be given access to the full and complete record of documents from the withdrawal in order to get the answers on why the withdrawal was such a disaster.”
My guess is that the documentation will have to be pried out of Biden’s dead hands before they give that up.
