Elon Musk’s piggy bank just took a major hit.
Musk has dropped down off the top of the wealthiest people in the world list.
It is not so much that Musk fell from the top of the mountain as it is how much wealth he has lost over the last year.
Falling from Grace
Musk has lost almost as much as Tesla has over the last year.
The 52-week high for Tesla is up over $400 per share.
That had fallen down to less than $153 per share.
Musk is suffering a similar fate.
In December 2021, Musk was worth $245.1 billion.
In December 2022, Musk is worth $176.6 billion.
The new leader is Bernard Arnault with $188.6 billion.
After Musk, the top five are filled out by Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani at $134 billion, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos at $115.4 billion, and Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett at $108.4 billion.
