Rep. George Santos (R-N.Y.) now has another problem in his little basket.
Santos has a previous fraud charge hanging over his head in Brazil.
Brazilian authorities could not locate him, so the charges were dropped about a decade ago.
That has all changed with his recent notoriety.
Charge Him!
The charges are related to a stolen checkbook.
Santos made the mistake of popping his head back up, and now Brazilian authorities are reviving the charges against him.
They are reportedly in discussion with our DOJ about how to proceed on the matter.
Since his rise to fame, he has gone from a rising star to a con man in terms of how he is being perceived.
On top of this, the lies he told regarding his background are now also being investigated.
Nassau County District Attorney Anne Donnelly stated, “The numerous fabrications and inconsistencies associated with Congressman-Elect Santos are nothing short of stunning.
“The residents of Nassau County and other parts of the third district must have an honest and accountable representative in Congress. No one is above the law and if a crime was committed in this county, we will prosecute it.”
There is also an additional FEC investigation into $199 charges that were being made to the campaign.
