This is a report that will make animal lovers cringe.
This is especially true for those of our canine officers in first responder units.
Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office deputy Eric Tolbert has been indicted.
The charges… cruelty to animals.
Horrifying
Tolbert has three dogs at his home, and now they are all dead.
He left them outside with nothing but a metal shed to protect them from the blistering heat.
Additionally, he was tasked with caring for a K-9 officer.
That dog survived, but he was living in a filthy pen that had mold-ridden feces all over the place.
PETA Senior Vice President Daphna Nachminovitch stated, “Nothing can bring these dogs back or make up for their suffering, but these charges send the message that there are consequences for anyone who causes dogs’ agonizing deaths, including those charged with enforcing the law.
“PETA is calling for Deputy Eric Tolbert to be barred from owning animals for life so that no other dog dies slowly and painfully in his stifling shed as LaLa, Luke Cage, and Storm did.”
This man deserves to do every day he is sentenced to.
We expect more from our law enforcement officers, especially those selected to care for our K-9 officers, so this is just completely unforgivable.
