Fox News’ Peter Doocy is one of the few reporters these days who will actually ask Karine Jean-Pierre tough questions.
He hit her with a doozy this week, but he still kind of let her off the hook.
Doocy had asked Jean-Pierre about covering up Biden’s mental health, but then he backed off.
Go for the Kill
The initial question by Doocy was right on point.
He asked, “It would seem that people in this White House knew that President Biden was slipping and it was hidden from the American people.
“So who ordered White House officials to cover up a declining president?”
KJP responded, “I know that is a narrative that you love.
“Okay, you’re asking me two multiple questions here. Wait, wait. First of all, there’s been no cover up. I want to be very clear about that. I know that’s the narrative that you all want.”
That is where Doocy should have followed up about how the Democrats took it upon themselves to substitute a candidate after a primary race.
He could also have backed her into a corner asking her how Democrats are the protectors of democracy, as they claim, when they literally just circumvented democracy with an unprecedented move in an election.
We have had plenty of elections heading in where one party was significantly ahead, but nobody has ever backed off the candidate.
Jimmy Carter, George Bush, Mitt Romney, John McCain, just to name a few, and nobody ever pulled the candidate.
They took their lumps, and came back in the next election to fight again.
Well, the Democrats just changed that playbook, so the next time we are a few months out but before the convention and Republicans are losing, let’s see them pull the old switcheroo and watch the outrage in the media and by Democrats.
It will be legendary.
