If there is one thing that shocks me, it is that Republicans are not going after former FBI Director James Comey a little harder.
A new report from Real Clear Investigations is proof positive that Comey should be among those called into committee hearings.
According to this report, Comey was using faulty news reports to back up his FISA requests.
Fake News
One of the key pieces of information that Comey was using for the FISA warrants, in addition to the fake Steele Dossier, was a Washington Post story.
The problem was that the story was retracted, packed with mistakes regarding Russian collusion.
Yet, this was part of the information used by Comey’s team to support the need for a FISA warrant.
The report stated, “Court documents released as part of special counsel John Durham’s investigation into the Trump-Russia FBI investigation were heavily redacted and in some cases the references to relying on the Post story as evidence were concealed under the guise of ‘sensitive’ information which could not be disclosed.
“Two former U.S. intelligence officials who had seen the unredacted versions of the documents confirmed to Real Clear Investigation that the redactions contained nothing more than the flimsy evidence within the Post story which was used as a pretext to illegally spy on Page.”
After the Inspector General report had been released, proving again this was faulty investigation, current FBI Director Christopher Wray said they were taking steps to make sure this never happened again.
Well, what good does that do us now?
Furthermore, why is Comey still not being held accountable for such a clear abuse of his office?
