Ron DeSantis defied the left and signed a new piece of legislation into law.
Florida now joins 25 other states in allowing constitutional carry.
Citizens no longer need apply for a concealed carry permit in order to carry their sidearms.
Big Win for Second Amendment
Second Amendment advocates welcomed the new legislation being passed in Florida.
U.S. Concealed Carry Association Chairman and Co-Founder Tim Schmidt stated, “This is an historic day as the majority of states in our nation now recognize the inherent right of every citizen to defend themselves, their loved ones and their communities with a firearm.
“On behalf of our 750,000 members nationwide, the USCCA thanks the Florida Legislature, Governor Ron DeSantis, and the countless Second Amendment champions across the country who have played a role in ensuring more responsible gun owners can exercise this fundamental right.”
“Our members and law-abiding gun owners from coast to coast know that exercising a right does not eliminate personal responsibility.
“Firearms education and training are fundamental to their ability to protect themselves and others, but they don’t need a government mandate forcing them into it.
“The USCCA will continue to support policies like constitutional carry in the states and National Concealed Carry Reciprocity in Congress.”
The new law will go into effect on July 1.
As we would expect, the left is losing its mind over this, especially considering the timing being so close to the Tennessee shooting.
I say it actually makes more sense now than ever, so Floridians can now protect themselves and more importantly, our children.
