It looks like the FBI is not the only agency in hot water these days.

There is a lot of scuttlebutt coming about over the infamous letter from former intelligence members.

Now the House Judiciary and Intelligence Committees are threatening to take action against the CIA to get answers.

Turn It Over

The CIA, not surprisingly, is not cooperating with an investigation into the letter.

There is now the question of someone working inside the agency at the time was recruiting people to sign.

This all came about because a former CIA staffer was getting approval for his transcript.

In the process, he was asked to sign the letter.

While awaiting approval for his transcript by the Prepublication Classification Review Board (PCRB), former CIA employee David Cariens stated, “When the person in charge of reviewing the book called to say it was approved with no changes, I was told about the draft letter.

“The person asked me if I would be willing to sign… I agreed to sign.”

Now the committees are demanding relevant documentation, but the CIA says no.

So, Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan and Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner have penned a letter threatening a subpoena if that documentation is not turned over immediately.

Garland has already set the precedent for contempt for not cooperating with these investigations, so it is far from a gimme that the CIA would be given a pass if it comes to that.
