On Thursday, Georgia State Senator Colton Moore called for an emergency session of the state legislature to review the actions of Fani Willis, the recently elected Fulton County district attorney who indicted former President Donald Trump this week.

In a statement on Twitter, Sen. Moore said he is not willing to “sit back and watch as radical left prosecutors politically TARGET political opponents.”

The senator also released a letter to Governor Brian Kemp urging him to call a special session immediately.

Moreover, he requested that supporters sign a petition intended to stop what he calls the “weaponization of our justice system at the expense of taxpayers” in reference to Willis’ decision to charge President Trump with criminal offenses normally reserved for mobsters.

In May 2021, Governor Kemp signed a law allowing for impeachment proceedings against state district attorneys if they are believed not be adequately enforcing the law.

The measure was originally seen as an effort by Republicans lawmakers to block Democratic prosecutors from failing to prosecute individuals who pursue abortion under Georgia’s no-exception law.

However, it could now be used in order remove Willis from office should Sen. Moore’s efforts prove successful.

If this comes about, then the state legislature would recommend that a newly-created Prosecuting Attorneys Statewide Qualifications Commission investigate Willis and decide whether she should removed from her position or not.

Meanwhile President Trump will soon head back into Fulton County for his arraignment where he is expected plead not guilty on all charges and possibly have his mugshot taken – which would become one of most famous photographs ever taken in 21st century America.
