Thousands of angry Australians have taken to the streets of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia to protest yet ANOTHER extension of the Australian state’s lengthy and punishing COVID19 lockdown, prolonged by their government in response to the so-called “Delta variant” of COVID. They chanted “No More Lockdowns” and “Sack Dan Andrews” referring to the Premier of Victoria (equivalent to a State’s Governor in the US) who ordered a seven-day, statewide lockdown which began at 8 PM August 5th after Victoria recorded just 8 new cases of the “Delta variant” of COVID.

Andrews told the press,

“The alternative is not to be locked down for seven days, it’s being locked down for seven weeks or more, locked down until we get to 80 per cent vaccination and that may not happen until Christmas time,” he said.

He claimed that the decision to enforce what fed-up Melburnians are calling “Lockdown 6.0” was “incredibly painful”. Though likely not nearly as painful as the annihilation of businesses and families’ livelihoods which may never recover.

The Western Australian reported, “Thousands of businesses have been forced to shut again, as the state government faced criticism that not enough warning was given before Thursday’s announcement.

Further financial support for businesses is expected to be announced on Friday, with those that applied for grants during the last lockdown to receive payments again.

But Victoria’s tourism council said the current support was “simply no longer adequate to sustain businesses”, encouraging the government to push for the reinstatement of JobKeeper.”

Anti-Lockdown Protests Erupt- Aussie Authorities Claim Victim Status

Reports coming from the anti-lockdown rally in Melbourne from government-friendly publications have described them as “volatile”, “violent” and say that Victoria State Police were “attacked”. According to The Australian, “Assistant Commissioner Luke Cornelius, who described the assault as a “dog act”, said the police officer was pushed over by unruly protesters outside Melbourne East police station while trying to control hundreds of illegal demonstrators who descended on Melbourne’s CBD on Thursday night.” The officer didn’t require medical attention for cuts and scrapes sustained and police deployed pepper spray and made 15 arrests and levied fines against 16 people.

However, Rebel News’ reporter Avi Yemeni was live on scene and his footage directly contradicts the party line in the Australian city. Check out the report from Avi below that the mainstream sources will NEVER air. The video shows police pepper spraying a non-violent marching crowd, who responds by knocking a single officer to the ground and kicking him. Police were also recorded shoving Avi and his team away while admitted mainstream camera crews behind their lines. Yemeni rightly pointed out, that China just over the sea from Australia is laughing at the authoritarianism of their government’s actions responding to COVID.
