The amount of money our government wastes on utterly ridiculous programs is maddening.
The latest being a diplomatic culinary partnership program.
I honestly have no idea what they hope to accomplish with this nonsense, but the announcement did not go over very well.
Let’s Eat
So, this was the big announcement…
We’re excited about the #DiplomaticCulinaryPartnership with @us_protocol and the @beardfoundation. Hear from @secblinken and @chefjoseandres and see a few of the amazing chefs that will be part of this partnership. They know that diplomacy begins with great food. pic.twitter.com/8OsobUzRWI

The reaction was about as expected… most thought it was a complete waste of time and money.
It seems more like a way for the elite to get a free meal from the government than it does anything else.
Former Trump staffer Richard Grenell seemed to agree…
No, no, no.
Diplomacy does not begin with good food. Stop!Foreign Service Officers should be furious with this type of messaging that emphasizes a weak State Department interested in food & travel.
Taxpayers pay diplomats to solve problems peacefully! We need tough diplomats. https://t.co/V2qOROwTGp

Some of the comments we saw from followers fell right in line with that sentiment.
One man wrote, “Economy in shambles, people struggling to make ends meet, high food price, homelessness at crazy numbers… and this is the US Gov.”
Another stated, “Terrible use of tax payer $$.”
This is Joe Biden laughing and Anthony Blinken laughing at us, nothing more.
