What is going on with the cast of “The Sopranos”?
Over the last few months, they have all been dropping like flies.
The latest to pass away is Robert LuPone, who played Tony’s neighbor and family physician.
He was 76 years old.
Gone
LuPone was a very accomplished actor both in film and on the stage.
He earned a Tony nomination for “A Chorus Line” and became a household name as Tony Soprano’s neighbor.
He was the guy that loved being close to the mob, but just about wet his pants when reality hit home.
LuPone also co-founded The Manhattan Class Company Theater (MCC).
After his death, the MCC stated, “MCC founding Co-Artistic Director Bob LuPone passed away Saturday, August 27 after a three-year battle with pancreatic cancer.
“He is survived by his wife, Virginia, his son Orlando, sister Patti, and brother William.
“He is also survived by the profound impact he had on us.
“Bob was a force, an advocate, complex in the richest ways, overflowing with a youthful enthusiasm, and deeply wise as he looked into our souls.
“He was our best friend. It is hard to believe that we will never sit down with him again and say, ‘Let’s talk.'”
Rest in peace, sir.
