The bad days for Turkey continue.

Turkey is reeling right now, trying to recover from a horrific earthquake that has taken more than 47,000 lives already.

In the midst of that, another quake hit, with six already dead.

More to Come

The latest quake registered a 6.4, rocking the southern Turkish city of Antakya.

The quake was also felt in Syria, Egypt, and Lebanon.

While the death toll from this event sits at six, like the first one, it could rise considerably, although the numbers will be nowhere near what we saw from the first.

There were almost 300 injuries reported, with more than a dozen listed in serious condition.

The reality is there are simply not that many people left in the area, with the entire city already turned to rubble.

Rebuilding is expected to start next month, with almost 400,000 apartments to be rebuilt.

Of course, much of that will fall at the expense of the American taxpayer, as Secretary Blinken has already offered support from the United States.

So far, taxpayers have seen $185 million of our money go to this recovery effort, but that number will surely increase significantly as we move forward.

Blinken told Turkish officials that the United States will be providing aid “for as long as it takes,” just like we are doing for Ukraine, which should make everyone in this country jump for joy.
