Eleven violent Antifa domestic terrorists have been charged with multiple felonies and misdemeanors in San Diego in connection with a January 9th attack on a gathering of President Trump’s supporters at the Pacific Beach “Patriot March”. The group was reportedly arrested in multiple raids carried out by police and sheriff’s deputies throughout Southern California. This is widely believed to be the first case in which members of Antifa have been charged with conspiracy to commit riot and several felonies including a mace attack on a dog and his owner simply walking down the beach. The prosecutor has pointed to the fact that groups from San Diego and Los Angeles clearly conspired and colluded to commit these crimes. The worst offenders are looking at up to ten years in prison.

A DA In California to Call Antifa Out By Name and Tactics

According to the complaint filed by DA Stephan, the District Attorney demonstrated the courage and conviction that so very, very many across the nation have lacked and described the crimes of Antifa with precision and accuracy,

“On or about January 9, 2021, ALEXANDER AKRIDGE JACOBS, JESSE MEREL CANNON, AUSTIN JOSEPH, BRIAN LIGHTFOOT, CHRISTIAN MARTINEZ, LUIS FRANCISCO MORA, BRYAN RIVERA, FARAZ MARTIN TALAB, JEREMY WHITE, and ERICH LOUIS YACH did unlawfully conspire together and with another person and persons whose identity is unknown to commit the crime of Penal Code Section 404 Riot, in violation of PENAL CODE SECTION 182(a)(1).

Thereafter, in the County of San Diego, State of California, pursuant to the above conspiracy and in furtherance of the objects thereof: The Defendants are alleged to be affiliated with ANTIFA and are organized into two groups, one originating from Los Angeles and the other from San Diego. ANTIFA is known to use force, fear, and violence to further their own interests and to suppress the interests of others. This tactic is referred to as “Direct Action” and is known to mean acts of violence such as assault, battery, assault with deadly weapons, arson, and vandalism. The alleged object of this conspiracy was to incite and participate in a riot using direct action tactics.

On or about January 2nd, 2021, ANTIFA supporters posted on social media calling for “counterprotesting” and direct action, in response to a scheduled political demonstration at Pacific Beach on January 9th, 2021. People pledged their support and participation by liking and sharing the post, in essence agreeing to take part in the “direct action”.”

The 13-page complaint details 24 different charges, 68 different “overt acts” and seven separate attacks that included the use of mace and physical blows with chairs as well as thrown bottles and cans and strikes with flag poles and canes to attack at least 16 people including journalists and minors and even sending one to the hospital. Several businesses were also vandalized. According to NBC7 San Deigo, “At least two of the defendants pleaded not guilty to charges including conspiracy to commit a riot, illegal use of tear gas, assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury and vandalism.”

“Video evidence analysis shows that overwhelmingly the violence in this incident was perpetrated by the Antifa affiliates and was not a mutual fray with both sides crossing out of lawful First Amendment expression into riot and violence,” District Attorney Summer Stephan’s office said in a news release, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.
