Disgraced former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) is scheduled to testify before Congress publicly on September 10 and will reportedly discuss his clearly criminal response to the COVID pandemic.

Cuomo is widely known for his failed response to the COVID-19 pandemic, including his decision to put sick COVID patients into nursing homes with elderly immunocompromised individuals — with many arguing that his decisions could have even been deliberately made to cause harm.

Former President Donald Trump provided the disgraced former governor with the Navy hospital ship USNS Comfort, which he deployed to the New York Harbor to isolate sick COVID patients — but Cuomo refused to do so, effectively causing thousands of deaths from the spread of COVID in nursing homes, which many people believe was a deliberate snub to Trump.

Cuomo was ultimately pushed out of office using sexual harassment allegations, though many believe that his response to the COVID pandemic was the real reason behind the ouster.

The former governor previously testified before the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic earlier this year in a seven-hour, closed-door, transcribed interview — but he is now being called to testify publicly.

The subcommittee’s chairman, Rep. Brad Wenstrup (R-OH), announced on Tuesday that Cuomo will appear on September 10 to face questions about his administration issuing “unscientific guidance that forced New York nursing homes and long-term care facilities to admit COVID-19 positive patients,” according to a press release.

The document went on to explain that transcripts from all interviews regarding the nursing home scandal will be released prior to Cuomo’s testimony.

Wenstrup explained: “Andrew Cuomo owes answers to the 15,000 families who lost loved ones in New York’s nursing homes during the COVID-19 pandemic. On September 10, Americans will have the opportunity to hear directly from the former governor about New York’s potentially fatal nursing home policies.”

“During closed-door testimony, Mr. Cuomo was shockingly callous when pressed to explain discrepancies in nursing home death counts, repeatedly deflected responsibility for the nursing home directive, and most egregiously, showed little remorse for the thousands of lives lost,” the Republican congressman added. “A true leader owns up to his mistakes and takes responsibility for wrongdoing. That is not what we saw from Mr. Cuomo during his term as governor nor during his transcribed interview. We hope that during his public hearing next week, Mr. Cuomo will stop dodging accountability and honestly answer the American people.”
