Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is not very happy these days.
The big move by Democrats to try to use the 14th Amendment to remove Trump from the ballot is something with which she is very familiar.
She went nuclear this week on Democrats for resorting to such tactics.
Tried and Failed
As it turns out, Democrats tried to use that little trick on MTG.
Greene called them “pompous a**sholes,” but she was not done there.
She stated, “We have to remind all these pompous a**holes in the mainstream media that you guys tried this once and you’ve failed — because I won my case, and there is precedent there.
“Before my primary in 2022, they tried to remove my name off the ballot under the same clause — the exact same thing they’re doing to President Trump. And I won that case.
“I had to sit on the witness stand. I think it was like four to five hours defending myself being charged with insurrection.
“It was unbelievable. It cost me about a million dollars in legal fees.
“If I had lost, they would have removed my name off the ballot, and I could not have been reelected under the 14th Amendment, Article 3.
“And it’s exactly what they’re trying to do to President Trump.
“So, my case is precedent. I’ve already won it. This will help President Trump win his cases.”
The fact is that Trump has not been charged with insurrection as of yet.
Now, that could change in the January 6 case, especially if Trump takes the stand and slips up.
For now, this is nothing more than a headline grabber for Democrats.
