Joe Biden just lost one of his top legal minds in the White House.
White House Counsel Stuard Delery has tendered his resignation and come September, Biden is without his top attorney.
Delery has been with Biden since the transition team.
Time to Go
After the transition team completed its work, Delery served as Deputy Counsel.
He was elevated to the top position when Dana Remus resigned last summer.
Delery is one of Joe Biden’s “first” in diversification hirings, being the first openly gay person to serve in that role.
Delery has been Joe’s top adviser during the GOP probes and vaccine issues, as well as helping Biden craft his massive $1.9 trillion spending package, so this is a pretty big blow for Biden.
Biden’s Chief of Staff Jeff Zients has dropped a bit of a bombshell on all Biden cabinet officials, asking them to decide right now if they are in this for the long haul, giving them until the end of the summer to decide.
So, I think we can expect more resignations soon.
The White House has not announced any possible replacement for Delery at this time.
