Tragedy has struck in India this week.
More than a dozen people were killed when a transformer exploded.
The transformer was located near a sewage plant in Northern India.
The country has seen massive flooding as of late, which is making it very dangerous around these transformers.
Horrifying Deaths
All told, 15 people were killed.
Sadly, that total includes six police officers.
In addition to the deaths, there were also numerous injuries, all of whom were sent to a hospital in Uttarakhand state’s Chamoli district.
The accident occurred on the banks of the Alaknanda River.
The transformer exploded because of the flooding that is occurring throughout India due to record monsoons, raising water levels to unprecedented levels.
Just three months ago, 11 people were electrocuted when their truck struck an overhead power line during a festival in Southern India.
