As if things couldn’t get any worse for Fox News, now they’ve been hit with another major shakeup.
On Wednesday morning, June 21, one of the longtime co-hosts of ‘The Five” announced his departure on Twitter. “The Five” is known as one of the new network’s top-performing shows.
In his tweet, Geraldo Rivera shared with his following that his final appearance on the show would occur at the end of June. Rivera, a former journalist, often times served as the “odd man out” on the Fox News show due to his left-leaning views.
His tweet read:
“Morning, it’s official, I’m off @TheFive. My last scheduled show appearances are Thursday and Friday June 29th and 30th. It’s been a great run and I appreciate having had the opportunity. Being odd man out isn’t always easy. For the time being, I’m still Correspondent at Large.”

News of Rivera’s departure comes about one month after he posted a tweet suggesting his time at Fox was coming to a close.
His previous tweet stated, “My appearances today and tomorrow on The Five have been canceled. I’m sure there’s a good reason. Never fear, I’ll be back week after next. Stay safe and happy. Thanks.”
Beginning his time with Fox News as a war correspondent in back in 2001, Rivera became notorious for incurring the wrath of the news network’s right-wing viewers.
Now, his departure comes during Fox News’ worst ratings in years.
As many of you are aware by now, Fox News has continued to struggle to maintain its dominance over cable media following the ousting of Tucker Carlson.
Ironically enough, the news network is now losing to left-wing rival MSNBC, who just last week dethroned Fox News.
