Last week, some tragic news broke out of Alaska.

During a training accident, two Army helicopters crashed.

The accident resulted in the deaths of three Army officers.

Tragedy Strikes

Each Apache helicopter has a crew of two people.

When authorities arrived as the scene of the crash, three of those four were dead.

The fourth was injured and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Maj. Gen. Brian Eifler, commanding general of the 11th Airborne Division, stated, “This is an incredible loss for these soldiers’ families, their fellow soldiers, and for the division.

“Our hearts and prayers go out to their families, friends and loved ones, and we are making the full resources of the Army available to support them.”

This continues a string of deadly training accidents for the Army, with another crash in Alaska in February killing two and March accident near Fort Campbell where nine were killed.

As of this report, the Army had not released the identities of the departed until their families had been notified.
