Governor Ron DeSantis has decided to stick up for himself.
In the process, he is firing shots at anyone involved over the last few elections.
I think we can all agree that 2020 was brutal and that 2022 was disappointing.
DeSantis is going to play off that to try to boost his campaign.
Time for Change
I watch social media regularly and the overwhelming sentiment after 2022 was that We the People wanted change in party leadership.
So, what did our elected representatives do? They did the opposite of what we asked.
McCarthy, McConnell, and McDaniel were all left in leadership roles. Then what happened? We lost the first batch of special elections, showing the lessons were clearly not being learned.
DeSantis addressed this, stating, “We reject the culture of losing that has infected the Republican Party in recent years.
‘We’ve been able to operate an administration that doesn’t get consumed in petty controversies or drama or palace intrigues.
“We basically executed the mission day after day and keep a lot of people on their toes in the process.”
He continued, “I look around and sometimes Republicans will get into office and they’re almost like potted plants.
“They don’t want to do anything with the authority that they have…If you just don’t do anything then maybe you alienate fewer people.”
In a roundabout way, this is yet another attack against Trump because Trump endorsed both McCarthy and McDaniel in their current leadership roles.
Like I said… this is going to be a bloodbath.
