ICYMI – Democrats smell blood in the water.
A report broke about Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas accepting donor gifts.
Now Democrats are demanding that he resign.

As most of you know, I am not a big fan of donors giving freebies to anyone.
When this happens with a Supreme Court justice, well, it really stinks.
Thomas was accepting some pretty hefty gifts, which included luxurious vacations and trips in a private jet.
Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) stated, “Today’s report demonstrates, yet again, that Supreme Court Justices must be held to an enforceable code of conduct, just like every other federal judge.
“The ProPublica report is a call to action, and the Senate Judiciary Committee will act.”
Thomas is friends with real estate developer Harlan Crow, and he has received upwards of $500,000 in freebies that were never reported.
Crow denied that the trips were an effort to influence Thomas in any way.
He stated, “The hospitality we have extended to the Thomas’s (sic) over the years is no different from the hospitality we have extended to our many other dear friends.
“We have never asked about a pending or lower court case, and Justice Thomas has never discussed one, and we have never sought to influence Justice Thomas on any legal or political issue.
“More generally, I am unaware of any of our friends ever lobbying or seeking to influence Justice Thomas on any case, and I would never invite anyone who I believe had any intention of doing that.”
So, that is the sticky part… are they actually friends or was there a quiet agreement that Thomas would try to influence cases?
Either way, it was idiotic of Thomas not to disclose the trips, especially since he has had a target on his head from the very first day he put the robe on.
