Jenna Ellis, one of the legal mouthpieces for Donald Trump regarding his 2020 election fight, just provided fodder for ads to be used against him.
Ellis just admitted that on 10 different occasions, she misrepresented election data to boost claims that the election had been stolen from Trump.
Rest assured, if Trump continues to push this on the campaign trail, we are going to see this used in ads against him.
Fess Up
Ellis never actually represented Trump in the courtroom, but she was a major mouthpiece of his during this debacle.
Her plea deal is not going to help Trump’s campaign moving forward, that is for sure.
She is now the third attorney that has been involved with Trump that has been disciplined for her actions during the fight to overturn the 2020 election results, and this is not including Sidney Powell, who went about this on her own.
Bryon Large, Colorado’s presiding disciplinary judge, stated, “The parties agree that Respondent, through her conduct, undermined the American public’s confidence in the presidential election, violating her duty of candor to the public.”
The 65 Project Managing Director Michael Teter, was happy with the ruling, stating, “[T]he year it took to reach this outcome highlights the need for revamped and revitalized disciplinary process.
“It should not take 366 days to hold accountable a lawyer who, in a few short weeks of constant lies and misrepresentations, placed American democracy in such jeopardy.
“Nor is a public censure a particularly satisfying outcome when one considers the direct line between Ms. Ellis’s deliberate actions and the attack on our nation’s Capitol on January 6th.”
