It would appear that Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) is done spending his time in the House of Representatives.
After Speaker McCarthy (R-CA) removed him his committee assignments, it gave him the nudge he needed.
Schiff has announced that he will not be running for re-election in the House in 2024.
New Seat
Schiff has decided to go after the seat currently held by Senator Diane Feinstein (D-CA).
Feinstein has not announced her retirement.
However, at her age and mental issues, it is assumed that she will be.
Schiff, in his plea to get Californians to vote for him, stated, “Our democracy is at great risk. Because GOP leaders care more about power than anything else.
“We’re in the fight of our lives—a fight I’m ready to lead as California’s next U.S. Senator.”
The only threat to our democracy is Adam Schiff.
I am not sure if Schiff got the memo or not, but Governor Newsom is looking to back a minority woman to fill that seat, not an old white man.
So, basically, Schiff’s decision to leave the House and run for the Senate is, hopefully, his resignation from politics.
