Ron DeSantis is setting the table for a presidential announcement.
Now, this does necessarily mean he will announce, but he is clearly testing the waters.
Part of that is a mini-tour of police departments in blue states.
When NYC Mayor Eric Adams found out that DeSantis was coming to his neck of the woods, he sent him a direct message thinking he scored some points.
I think most would agree it was DeSantis that ended this fight.
Body Blow
Prior to DeSantis arriving in NYC, Adams posted, “Welcome to NYC, [DeSantis], a place where we don’t ban books, discriminate against our LGBTQ+ neighbors, use asylum seekers as props, or let the government stand between a woman and health care.
“We’re happy to teach you something about values while you’re here.”
Christina Pushaw, who is venomous when it comes to defending DeSantis, took the lead here.
She stated, “Nice rhetoric – but here’s reality: More Americans fled NYC than any other metro area last year.
“More Americans moved to Florida than any other state.
“Nice rhetoric – but here’s reality: More Americans fled NYC than any other metro area last year. More Americans moved to Florida than any other state.”
“Maybe it’s you who can learn from [DeSantis]?”

You know this, Mayor Adams, and you’ve talked (accurately) about crime pushing people out of NYC. Florida’s crime rate… https://t.co/gHru8I12PS

So, yeah, I think DeSantis walks away with the win here, and it is not even close.
