With the election finally over and the GOP in charge of the House, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) hopes to bring attention to the border crisis.
With just a few weeks before the GOP officially takes over, McCarthy headed to the worst part of the border to see the problems for himself.
Making it clear the White House has no plans to address the crisis, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre dismissed McCarthy’s visit as nothing more than a political stunt.
They Have No Plan
The first words of Jean-Pierre’s mouth would be considered an insult at best.
She stated, “I’ve heard that Kevin McCarthy is at the border, and the question we have for Kevin McCarthy–who’s soon to be Speaker McCarthy–is, what is his plan?
“What is he doing to help the situation that we’re seeing?
“He goes down there, and he does a political stunt like many Republicans do, but he is not actually putting forth a plan.
“McCarthy has no plan.
“The Republican Party has no plan.
“They do nothing except political stunts.”
The reality is that there was a plan in place when this administration took over.
Trump had gotten the immigration issue under control for the first time in forever, and Joe Biden and his administration completely dismantled that plan.
There is also the fact that even with the GOP taking over the House, anything they throw at Biden will never get through the Senate to Biden’s desk.
Get ready for a frustrating two years and a lot of finger-pointing.
